Why Mike Thaller is an enthusiastic Democrat

Why is Mike Thaller excited about the possibility of serving on the Central Committee?
My hot button issues were spawned as I grew up in the Sixties (and my kids are tied of hearing about the Sixties) and I see the progress made over the decades in serious jeopardy.

  • I remember "colored" drinking fountains.
  • I remember the failure of something as basic as the Equal Rights Amendment to pass through a Conservative Congress. [ERA 1923 + 1972]
  • I remember Prayers in my public school that were very different from the prayers I learned from my family.
  • I remember panicked young women frantically raising the money to fly to 1000 miles to New York to get a safe and legal abortion. [Roe v. Wade 1972]
  • I remember my gay friends being harassed as sinners. Only that is happening now.
  • And I remember seeing my people's jobs threatened as corporations outsource jobs to other countries. And the resulting increase in profits being hailed as an improving economy. Only that is happening to me.

I'm anxious to do what I can to get things moving forward again. I would appreciate your endorsement, and if you are in the 78th Assembly district and see my name on the ballot, I would appreciate your vote.
