Candidate Statement
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

My professional background spans over 30 years in local government. I have been the County Assessor since 1983 and my duties were expanded in 1994 to include the Recorder and County Clerk. My education includes a Masters Degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Successfully manage one of the largest Assessor's offices in the State with total assessments of over $319 billion. Responsible for the annual recording of over 1.3 million real estate documents, as well as issuing all birth and death certificates, marriage licenses, fictitious business names, and performing civil wedding ceremonies

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Five branch offices conveniently located throughout the County, Saturday service, 24-hour telephone information, and an interactive web site to permit maximum public access to information and services.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Member of the San Diego State Alumni Association, the Navy League, and the Board of Directors of the San Diego Futures Foundation.

FAMILY

My wife arlette and I have two children, Julie 18 and Harrison 15. I have been a San Diego resident all my adult life.
