Why Vote for Mike?

By Mike Lawrence

Candidate for Member, Democratic Party County Central Committee; County of San Diego; Assembly District 77

This information is provided by the candidate
My background, experience, and resources make me a good choice to represent you on the County Central Committee.
I came to San Diego in 1952 to Marine Corps boot camp, and later spent time at Camp Pendleton before and after an all-expenses paid tour in Korea.

After military service, I graduated from San Diego State and worked for the Navy until retirement. Since 1996, my wife and I have volunteered on campaigns for Democratic candidates. Our most successful was with Susan Davis for Congress in 2000. We expect a similar success with Francine Busby in June.

Our work with candidates at many levels got the attention of the San Diego County Democratic Party Central Committee, and we were awarded Co-Volunteers of the Year in 2005. We have worked hard to live up to that honor.

At the 2006 California Democratic Party convention, we were awarded Volunteers of the Year by the Director of Region 21.

I have been an alternate member of the SDCDPCC for the past year, and want very much to continue as a full member. Being retired and in good health, I can devote all my time and effort to furthering the values of the Democratic Party through electing Democrats at all levels of government.
