Water Reuse

Larry believes that water reuse is a crucial part of meeting our future water supply needs. He gives the current Water District plans for implementing water reuse in Santa Clara County.

Water reuse must play an important roll in meeting our future water supply needs. Recognizing this The Board has set a goal of 5% of our water supply being recycled water by the year 2010 and 10% by the year 2020. To this end The District has offered incentives for the use of recycled water. We have invested in infrastructure in south county and in the south bay recycling pipeline to Metcalf Rd. In addition we have just started planning for a 5 million gallon a day pilot advance treatment system with south bay recycling. We plan on meeting our goal.
