The City Council is irresponsible with the taxpayers' money.In recent years we have seen the City Council willing to waste money on a stadium, city hall, street racing, Tropicana takeover attempt, Norcal contract, and the $36 million lawsuit payout to the County. Much of this spending was worked out in backroom deals. At the same time, the City Council has trouble meeting the priorities of the community. A prime example is the proposal to cut $8 million from police and fire funding. I propose that there be no more backroom deals such as the attempt to force a stadium on San Jose. I also call for a sense of priority of police and fire over street racing and the rest of the above. |
