Edward C. Mack has the following qualifications:

  • Five years of civil experience.
  • Fifteen years of criminal experience as a Los Angeles County Public Defender.
  • Tried more than100 jury trials. Handled many complex cases including murder, kidnaping, car-jacking, child molestation, armed robbery, gang crimes, drug sales and possession.
  • Experience reviewing cases. Clerked for the presiding judges of the Los Angeles Municipal Court from December 1985 to September 1990, evaluating cases for entry of civil default judgments and ex parte orders.
  • Communication Skills. In addition to extensive courtroom experience, have had the opportunity to work in front of the camera as reporter, host and public affairs producer. Wrote a Preliminary Hearing Training Manual and Misdemeanor Trial Training Manual for colleagues at the Public Defenders Office. Have also written public service announcements for the United Way and a national voter registration campaign featuring Robert Guilluame.
  • Vietnam Era Veteran, served in the U. S. Air Force as Airman First Class.
  • Civil servant at heart. Has served in every level of government - federal, state, county and city.
