By Paul L. Jernigan, Jr.

Candidate for Sheriff; County of Los Angeles

This information is provided by the candidate
Being on the front lines, I know what works best for public safety: "THE BASICS"; jails, patrol, investigations, and prevention. Accomplished by financial responsibility, administration reform, hi-tech upgrades, proper training and management.
MY PLAN:

  • Cut all unnecessary bureaus and down size management to fill staff vacancies.
  • Re-open jails.
  • Upgrading with hi-tech equipment to increase crime fighting abilities.
  • Re-institute high intensity training.
  • Promotions and staffing based upon merit.
  • Increase special investigation units to combat rising crime.
  • Centralize units for uniformity.
  • Increase crime prevention through public awareness and participation.
  • Hire more qualified Deputies with high salary and benefit incentives.
  • Increase prevention against terrorist threats and possible attacks.

The County of Los Angeles needs a new Sheriff. One who will 1)Prioritize responsibilities, 2)Make decisive decisions, 3)Have the respect of his followers. The traits of a true leader.

I, Paul L. Jernigan Jr, am that leader.

On June 6, 2006, Vote Paul L. Jernigan Jr for Los Angeles County Sheriff.
