Candidate for
Sheriff; County of Fresno

As a Clovis City Councilman, and former Clovis Mayor, I have eight years of elected leadership experience, which included balancing budgets and making difficult decisions for a city of nearly 90 thousand residents. Many Fresno County elected officials, including Congressman Devin Nunes, recognize my qualifications and are endorsing me as your next Fresno County Sheriff.

As a Sheriff's Captain, with twenty-four years of broad and varied law enforcement and administrative experience, I have earned the trust of the brave men and women of law enforcement and public safety. I have received the endorsement of the Clovis Police Officers Association and the Clovis Firefighters Association.

As a life long learner, I am always seeking new and innovative concepts and ideas to provide responsive and timely public safety services to our community. I have earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Management an Organizational Development. I posses the knowledge, skill and ability to lead a large modern law enforcement agency like the Fresno County Sheriff's Department.

As your next Sheriff I will bring Integrity, Accountability and Transparency to the office. I am committed to the philosophy of Community Oriented Policing. I believe law enforcement officials must form meaningful relationships with the community they serve. Together we can find innovative solutions that represent best practices to effectively and efficiently use our limited resources. My vision is to make the Fresno County Sheriff's Department a regional leader in delivering proactive public safety services that will make Fresno County a safe place to work, live and raise a family.

As your Sheriff, I will fight gangs through proactive prevention, humane intervention, vigorous enforcement and incarceration. As your Sheriff, I will give no quarter to those who would poison our loved ones with illicit drugs. Working with community, faith-based and educational leaders, I will fight the root of crime, which is the decline of society's moral values.

It will be an honor to serve you as your next Fresno County Sheriff. I respectfully ask for your support and your vote on Tuesday, June 6th. Together we can make Fresno County a safer community for our families and friends to live and prosper.
