Dejah Dorantes is a native of San Francisco, raised in San Rafael, a Bay Area resident her entire life.

She came to Crockett in 1991, and it immediately became her lifetime home. The bayside views, the wonderful, friendly people of Crockett, and the rich tradition of the community, all inspired her to live there and raise three children in the town's schools. All three have gone on to careers in healing and health care.

Her husband, Rick, is an honored 10-year veteran of the Crockett-Carquinez Fire Department, Engine Company 79, as was her son, Bob Kohs.

Ms. Dorantes is multi-talented, in many areas. As a former professional performing dance artist, she was a member of the Crockett Arts Alliance.

She has many interests, and many affiliations: Crockett Improvement Association; Crockett Landing Homeowners' Association; Charter Member, Toastmasters International, founding member of the Oakland Speakeasy; HSUSA, ASPCA, and ARF; American Cancer Society; Contra Costa Hospice & Palliative Care, Anna's Program; and Rebuilding Together, among others.
