Shelia Young's priorities include quality of life issues in Alameda County:

Economic Development:

Shelia will use her knowledge and success in promoting economic growth in San Leandro to improve the economic landscape in our region and attract businesses in emerging fields in order to create more jobs and opportunity for our families.

Neighborhood Revitalization through Responsible Land Use Planning:

Shelia will take action to promote re-development, enforce and increase public safety programs and improve our neighborhoods. Shelia will also partner with the county, individual cities, regional boards, local businesses, and community groups to create sound land use planning that balances housing, jobs, commercial growth and better transportation solutions.

Transportation Solutions:

Shelia serves on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, the Alameda Transportation (Improvement) Authority and the Congestion Management Agency and has been a leader in regional transportation planning. Shelia will demand investment in real solutions to critical transportation projects.
