Public Safety

Safety is Priority #1--Protecting our families, our homes and our neighborhoods will always be my top priority at City Hall. I believe the City Council must take strong action to combat crime and make our community safer.

More Sheriff's Patrols--I will put my 15 years of law enforcement service to work to expand deputy sheriff's patrols and support the tough measures needed to drive gangs out of our community.

Put Predators in Prison--I strongly support passage of Jessica's Law to keep repeat sexual offenders behind bars.

Oppose High Crime Housing--The Antelope Valley has a disproportionate share of the County's Section 8 housing. I will work with Supervisor Antonovich to address this issue and I'll oppose high-density developments that bring crime and blight to our city.

Quality of Life

New Stores and Restaurants--On the Planning Commission, I've worked to bring dozens of new dining and shopping amenities to Lancaster. New retail stores that are being planned include: the Lancaster Spectrum Center with six restaurants and four major retailers; a Lowe's Center with four new restaurants; and the new Amargosa Creek Project.

Give Citizens A Greater Voice--I worked successfully to create Lancaster's new Citizens Architectural and Design Committee to enhance the future quality of our city and I'm dedicated to making City Hall more accessible and accountable to the public.

Responsible Planning--As your Councilman, I'll support common sense community planning to protect our neighborhoods from reckless development and bring new parks and recreational facilities to enhance our family-friendly quality of life.

Education and Jobs--I will work to create new partnerships between our city and local schools. I'll also seek to promote Antelope Valley College as a "Job Training Magnet" to attract quality new businesses and jobs to Lancaster, and will work to expand our University Center.
