I was born in Jarratt, Virginia, November 7, 1939, the son of a sharecropper. I attended schools in Emporia, Virginia and graduated from high school in 1958.

I am retired from runningf my own business for 25 years. I am currently a real estate investor.

College of William and Mary. A.B. Degree in Government and International Relations Attended Goethe Institut, Munich, Germany Attended City College of New York, Graduate School of Education San Francisco State University, Graduate School of Education, Secondary Teaching Credentials

MILITARY SERVICE

U.S. Navy Officer Candidate School, commissioned Ensign 1962, Served as an Engineering Officer on The USS Cony, DD-508 and on the staff of Commander-in-Chief, Atlantic Fleet

COMMUNITY SERVICE

• Boy Scouts of America: As an Eagle Scout, I have served on Troop Boards, as Camp Counselor, Aquatics Director, Commissioner, and as Camp Director

• Cathedral School for Boys in San Francisco, Board Member and President of the Parents' Association

• Lowell High School: PTA Board, Fundraising Chairman

• Wildwood Parents Club, Board member in various positions

• I am a substitute teacher in Piedmont Schools
