Is it time for a change? I'm not talking about the oil in your car or the furnace filter. How about a change in Township Trustees? On Tuesday, November 8th, Anderson Township voters will have the opportunity to make a change for the better. There are 3 candidates running for 2 spots on the Board of Trustees.

Anderson Township has many things of which we can be proud. Our schools, parks, fire, sheriff and safety departments are the envy of many other communities. The Greenspace program adds welcome trees and greenery to an ever-increasing urban township. We are blessed to be located on two riverfronts and on the quiet side (no airplanes) of a quality metropolitan area. Anderson Township is known throughout the Greater Cincinnati area as a great place to live.

Is it me or does it seem like there are a few important things missing in our community? I've lived in Anderson most of my life. I've seen many things come and go. Many great institutions have stayed and are a respected part of our community. Anderson is also blessed to have many small business owners that count on local patrons to operate a successful business. The question remains. Is it time for a change?

Positive change always requires effort and good judgment. As a Township Trustee I would apply fresh energy to a couple of quality ideas. The old Beechmont Mall re-development has been a disappointment to many. The Macy's store is nice, but what about something more. I've been told the demographics of Anderson won't support nationally known stores. Has anyone looked around? Some of the nicest homes and neighborhoods in the county are in Anderson. Is anyone else disappointed in the selection of stores at Anderson Towne Center?

How about a quality bookstore? The Anderson branch of the public library is the busiest in Hamilton County. Many residents think a bookstore would be successful in Anderson. I do too. How about a family style movie theater? Gee, a movie theater in Anderson, what a novel idea.

Maybe the reason there has been little change in Anderson is because of a lack of energy. Fresh energy on the Board of Trustees is required in Anderson Township.

Is it time for a change? I've made my decision. On Tuesday, November 8th you can make yours. Make the effort. Vote on Election Day. Bring a pen or pencil and write-in "O'Brien for Trustee". It Is Time For A Change.
