Questions & Answers

1. What are your Qualifications for Office? (50 word limit)

After graduating with a B.A. from Williams College, I earned a Ph.D. in History from the University of Virginia. My area of specialization is American political history. I have lived in Golf Manor for over five years and have served on the Council during the past year.

2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)

I will vote in favor of legislation authorizing the village to purchase blighted residential properties and resell those properties to interested developers. In addition, I will propose that the village government place garbage cans at high-litter locations in the village and enforce more carefully its anti-litter laws. Finally, I will support legislation providing for the repair of the most damaged streets in the village.

3. What steps would you take to ensure that all public facilities are accessible to people with disabilities? (100 words limit)

I will propose an investigation of government buildings, the village park, stores, and other buildings to determine whether these facilities are accessible to people with disabilities. I will support government construction of any needed improvements to ensure handicapped access.

4. What specific steps will you take to expand recycling services in your community? (100 words limit)

I will propose that the village government include in its newsletter information on how to recycle, for example, where to obtain recycling bins.

5. What steps would you take to provide affordable housing for all residents of your community? (100 words limit)

I would propose a redevelopment plan that would designate a certain portion of new construction to affordable housing.
