Questions & Answers

1. What are your Qualifications for Office? (50 word limit)

I served on Amberley Council for 18 years (1979-1997) and as Mayor for the last four. During that time I Chaired the Roads, Police, Finance and Evaluation committees, and served ex-officio on all other committees. I have served on the Boards and Committees of many community organizations and have a good knowledge of the services, finances, and fundraising needs of these.

2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)

During my tenure as Mayor, I established a task force of qualified Village residents to aid in the planning of our new Village Hall. This proved very successful and could be utilized once again as we work to solve the problems with our North site and the Gibson Card site. These properties should be providing us with much needed revenue. I also take pride in the fact that during my years on Council we established a reserve of $4 million for use if Gibson closed or other needs arose. The reserves have been used in recent years to fund our deficit budgets. We must find other sources of revenue and develop all available properties to ensure Amberley's future. We cannot afford the luxury of not developing available property in the Village.

3. What steps would you take to ensure that all public facilities are accessible to people with disabilities? (100 words limit)

Village Hall was built with careful attention to disability access.

4. What specific steps will you take to expand recycling services in your community? (100 words limit)

For many years Amberley has provided curbside pick-up service for recycling. This service was established while I was on Council.
