Questions & Answers

1. What are your Qualifications for Office? (50 word limit)

Municipal Court Judge since 1997, currently Administrative & Presiding Judge; hear regular docket plus volunteer for the Housing Docket dealing with code violations; Municipal Court's webmaster; previously practiced law for 27 years while serving on Cincinnati City Council for 22 years and the Hamilton County Commission for 5.

2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)

In Municipal Court, each judge handles some 6,000 cases per year. Because of the high volume and fast space, advance preparation is essential. Judges must, however, listen carefully to all parties, and then fairly and promptly decide each case. In appropriate cases, the judge should encourage settlement instead of litigation. I believe a judge must continually study the law and keep up-to-date. We should strive to exceed, not just meet, mandatory legal education requirements. Information about the Court must be available to the public. I am the webmaster for the Municipal Court's website. I created the site and maintain it. The site provides basic information about the Court important to parties and lawyers, alike, please see: http://Hamilton-Co.org/MunicipalCourt.
