I am really looking forward to seeing the final results of this plan! We will finally know with certainty what the recreation needs of our community truly are. I agree that it might sound a little crazy that we needed hundreds of surveys, focus groups and consultants to help answer this question, but I think if you talk to anyone that has participated in this planning process - they'll speak to its value. Scheduling fields for soccer, baseball, lacrosse, etc. has been growing in difficulty over the years as our community grows. I haven't spoken to anyone who doesn't want a community pool. Many residents want a skate park. Many want a recreation center. Unfortunately, all of these projects require money. Recommendations on how to fund these projects will be included in the Recreation Master Plan as well. I have supported this effort all along and look forward to taking action on better meeting our community's recreation needs.
