Position Papers
Montgomery Road Widening
I have always been in favor of the Montgomery road widening and have only suggested to our current Trustees that the currently funded Construction Phase be terminated at Kemper Road instead of Red Cloud Court until the complete residential corridor could be done at one time. ODOT's plan will create a 7 to 2 lane traffic funnel and cause traffic to divert through additional neighborhoods and create new traffic congestion with pedestrian and children safety issues.
Parks and Green-space Protection
I want to add small neighborhood parks and expand our wonderful large park system. I will work to restore money to the Park Levy fund that was committed to Bank Parking lots, Bank sidewalks, and ODOT road widening. I will restore some form of the disbanded Park and Recreation Committee to perform long range park planning and continue to execute wholesome family recreational and park functions.
Polk Run Watershed Issues
The Polk Run Watershed consists of hundreds of acres and extends well beyond our Township borders. A Polk Run Consortium exists but the leadership needs to be strengthened and committed to searching for wider spred solutions. I plan to form a committee of informed residents to help advise the Board of Trustees and Township Administrator on the applicability of existing National Watershed Models to our Polk Run issues.
