1. What are your Qualifications for Office? (50 word limit)

Answer from Walter S. MacKay:

Professional experience and past board service; Attorney at Law, and former Magistrate, Hamilton County Probate Court, and former member of Northwest Board of Education, 1974-1977 and 1982-1990.

2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)

Answer from Walter S. MacKay:

Continue to provide the resources Education need to attain that ratings Convince Margie that our district needs her professionalism to continue provide a quality education for our students This is part of the Superintendent's duties to see that employees are given the necessary training to be promoted when the opportunity arises. I believe Margie will accomplish this in our district which was not done under the former administration

3. What will you do as a Board of Education member to increase parental involvement in your school system? (100 word limit)

Answer from Walter S. MacKay:

Parental involvement: The board's policy-making body and chief advisors to the Superintend on community attitudes. I would support the Superintendent in any effort to increase parental involvement but if the parents(s) are not involved in their students they will not be involved in our school system. If a parent would ask me how to get involved, I would tell the parent to join and become active in the PTA and Boosters in their student's schools. Both organizations are vital to our school system

Responses to questions asked of each candidate are reproduced as submitted to the League.  Candidates' statements are presented as submitted. Word limits apply for each question. Direct references to opponents are not permitted.
