1. What are your Qualifications for Office? (50 word limit)

Answer from Evelyn Brusman:

My personal knowledge of the benefits of putting God first in my life and in all things. My professional background as an accountant, manager and organizer. My raising a family of six here, as a lifelong resident, gives me the knowledge, maturity and sensitivity needed to be an effective candidate.

2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)

Answer from Evelyn Brusman:

Our city needs healing and only God can heal us from within. We need to acknowledge God by returning to our namesake, the patron saint of John "Bernard" Schroeder, by removing all statues and flags of the St.Bernard dog, displayed throughout the city. Our many seniors are a wonderful asset and we need to acquire, maintain and protect their benefits for their livelihood and mobility. Also, we must maintain safety standards through allocations and/or volunteers, ie. neighborhood or street watches and having department heads make adjustments to their budgets, knowing what's important, while maintaining a balanced budget.

3. What steps would you take to ensure that all public facilities are accessible to people with disabilities? (100 words limit)

Answer from Evelyn Brusman:

Continue to monitor and install accessibility to public areas throughout the area.

4. What specific steps will you take to expand recycling services in your community? (100 words limit)

Answer from Evelyn Brusman:

Our service department in St. Bernard does an outstanding job in recycling. We need to continue to encourage residents to recycle.

5. What steps would you take to provide affordable housing for all residents of your community? (100 words limit)

Answer from Evelyn Brusman:

Our community has affordable housing and should be periodically monitored to maintain that status.
