1. What are your Qualifications for Office? (50 word limit)

Answer from Lynda Eileen Roesch:

Served on City Council for 6 years; served on Montgomery Arts Commission for 3 years.

Answer from Ken Suer:

Sixteen year resident of Montgomery. Current member (since 2001) of Council. Prior experience on Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals. Civil Service Commission experience and experience as Clerk-Treasurer in Golf Manor. Current Member of Sycamore School District Planning Commission

Answer from Mark E. Combs:

I am an attorney with 13 years in private practice. As court administrator in my present and past position, I have extensive experience with budget planning, personnel supervision, and system administration.


2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)

Answer from Mark E. Combs:

  • evaluate the Citizen Response Survey and respond appropriately
  • review the Montgomery Road Corridor study and make certain that any business or mixed use development in the City is compatible with the character of the community
  • work with City Staff in implementing the Council's policies

Answer from Ken Suer:

Work to maintain and improve Montgomery's status as a premiere residential community Promote fiscal stability via prudent spending and responsible oversight Promote continued progress with customer service in the City

Very soon Council and staff will begin working on the next multi-year Strategic Plan for the City. I will be very much involved with this and with the preparation of our upcoming five year City budget. Through these process and with ongoing Council work I would hope to achieve the priorities listed earlier

Answer from Lynda Eileen Roesch:

Working with planning landmarks and zoning to ensure that Development is consistent with the City's goals; provide police and fire department the necessary support to maintain citizen safety.


3. What steps would you take to ensure that all public facilities are accessible to people with disabilities? (100 words limit)

Answer from Ken Suer:

Our public facilities currently meet regulations regarding accessibility. I would make sure that any future facilities also meet regulations


4. What specific steps will you take to expand recycling services in your community? (100 words limit)

Answer from Ken Suer:

I will continue to work as Council liaison to the Montgomery Environmental Advisory Group and continue to work with these volunteers with their ongoing efforts to expand recycling in the City


5. What steps would you take to provide affordable housing for all residents of your community? (100 words limit)

Answer from Ken Suer:

I would support t the new Planned Unit Development (PUD) legislation that will permit new flexibility for the City regarding housing options. I would also support efforts to look at apartment and condominium develop possibility for certain areas of the City
