I have served as a peace officer in Foster City from 1975 until my retirement in 2004. As a Lieutenant, I helped administer one of the largest and most important departments in the city. I now want to help maintain the entire city and keep it one of the premier places to live in the Bay Area. Thoughtful planning and prudent spending are what helped to make our wonderful town what it is today, one of the few cities in the State of California with a sizable cash reserve. I pledge to uphold this wise tradition.

Public safety is one of my strongest passions. I know first hand what it takes to train, equip, and support our firefighters, police officers and 911 dispatchers. There is no substitute for having the very best to serve our community. There can be no compromise.

As Foster City approaches 40 years of age, it becomes imperative that we evaluate the condition of our aging infrastructure and how it relates to allocating sufficient funds to address the need for replacement and repairs. If elected I would seek to find ways to insure the continuity of quality of our infrastructure without returning to the homeowners of our community for additional bond issues in the future.

Foster City is one of the largest cities in this state without a high-school. It was the intention of T. Jack Foster Sr. and the Foster family when they originally donated 16 acres for this purpose. I will work with the proponents of this initiative to find funding and make this a reality.

My creed when I started this campaign was to not allow myself to become indebted to any entity, person, or group, so I have self-funded my efforts. It is with the integrity of knowing that if elected I will be working for you the people, that I will go forth in the best interest of the citizens of Foster City, not any special interest.

My 29 years of experience in municipal government as a manager afford me unique insight into how best to serve the tax payers. I have developed skills in planning, organization, and assessing problems. I am accustomed to working tirelessly to serve my community. I pledge to continue to do so. I will be accessible and responsive to your needs and work diligently to earn and keep your respect. You have my promise. My performance and actions are on the record.
