With over 30 years experience in Silicon Valley's high-tech environment, I know how to put limited resources to work efficiently to achieve excellence in education. My eight years experience in local and regional politics, has taught me how to build effective alliances to fight for increased funding.

I believe in respecting diversity and making sure that everybody's voice is heard. I am committed to providing the courses that will keep our education system relevant and support our changing workforce needs. And I will work to promote partnerships with local organizations to take advantage of their expertise and resources in order to develop valuable career paths for our youth. I have served as Mayor and Council Member in the city of Sunnyvale and on the boards of the Association of Bay Area Governments, the Bay Area Economic Forum, The Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the San Francisco Bay Trail and the University of East West Medicine. I am a highly energetic, good listener who is dependable and accountable to my constituents. My public service has allowed me to develop regional, state and federal contacts so critical to getting things accomplished for the colleges.

I am honored to receive the support for my candidacy with the endorsement of local congressional representatives Anna Eshoo, Zoe Lofgren and Mike Honda, state senators Byron Sher (former), Liz Figueroa and Abel Maldonado, Assembly member Leland Yee, and mayors and council members from all nine bay area counties.
