Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Paul Fong

Candidate for
Board Member; Foothill-De Anza Community College District

This information is provided by the candidate

Our community can take pride in the excellence and innovation at both Foothill and De Anza colleges that place us as one of the preeminent districts in the state-and across the nation-in providing academic and vocational training and retraining programs.

The vision for Foothill-De Anza that I promised to the community has taken root and continues to blossom. Thanks to overwhelming community support for our bond measure in 1999, we have renovated and constructed buildings to meet the changing needs of our students, economy and society. We have dedicated and highly qualified faculty, staff and administrators who serve more than 40,000 diverse students each quarter.

Providing leadership and maintaining accountability have been paramount to my work as trustee. We have balanced competing needs with available resources, budgeting responsibly and maintaining safe reserves while ensuring quality programs and services for students. I will continue my state and federal advocacy to obtain our district's equal share of funding.

As your re-elected trustee, I will continue to work in partnership with government, business, and the community to strengthen Foothill-De Anza's well-deserved reputation for inclusiveness and excellence. I respectfully ask for your vote. Re-elect Paul Fong on November 8th.
