I am running for the Los Altos City Council this Fall because of my love for the town, my respect for its history, my hope for its future, and a strong desire to bring our community closer together.

My platform reflects the personality of our town--simple in its foundation yet complex in its pieces. Together with city staff, commissioners and volunteers, I will work toward the following objectives while maintaining a balanced budget:

Overall Safety
- Find ways to encourage slower traffic and efficient flows
- Enhance the level of emergency preparedness

Local Business
- Create more opportunities for local businesses to thrive in our town
- Create initiatives that bring more of our residents into Los Altos for business and social activities

Community Resources
- Maintain and enhance existing parks and public spaces
- Improve availability and quality of library and recreation resources

Youth Programs
- Inspire our younger generation to take an active role in our community
- Develop educational programs that provide teens with civic insight

City History
- Promote the awareness of our town's deep community roots
- Preserve the town's founding principles in decisions regarding future development

I grew up in Los Altos and Los Altos Hills. I attended many of our outstanding public schools, swam in the Covington pool and played on one of the first Region 43 AYSO teams. I have fond memories of the Pet Parade, the Fun Run on New Year's Eve and painting downtown storefront windows for Halloween. These experiences made me feel a real part of our greater community.

Now raising my own family here, I realize that keeping our town a special place to live depends on the decisions we make regarding future growth and development. Our "small town" feeling, our great schools and our safe environment all make Los Altos a truly wonderful town to call home. As your representative on the City Council, I will ensure these characteristics continue to define our community as we move forward.

Working together, we can help shape the future of Los Altos. Thank you for your consideration and support.
