My name is Corinne Parker and I am running for Riverside City Council. For those who are not familiar with my record, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.

I have been a resident of Riverside for over 10 years. During that time I have seen Riverside grow and prosper and I attribute much of that prosperity to a well-managed city government - a key element of which is a strong city council. Over the past few years, our council has become divided, putting the interests of a few before those of the city as a whole. I believe an infusion of new leadership is required to bring the focus back where it belongs. I can provide that leadership.

Fifteen years of experience working for the City of Riverside, in the Planning Department, City Clerk's Office and City Council's Office, has provided me with a thorough understanding of the municipal codes, intricacies of city policies and an in-depth understanding of the needs of the community. I have demonstrated my willingness and commitment to serving the citizens of our community by helping them navigate the often complex maze of city government and providing common sense solutions whenever possible. My platform of honest and effective government stems from these experiences.

After 15 years of public service as a city staff member, I am compelled to extend my public service commitment to the families and businesses of Ward 4. As your council representative, I intend to use my experience and knowledge of the city to benefit all the citizens of Riverside, while specifically focusing on the needs of Ward 4 residents. I pledge to safeguard the future of our city, to be fair and accessible, and to listen to the concerns of the community when making decisions.

With traditional city income sources being redirected to the state, we cannot afford to have a city council that cannot work together. Now is the time for councilmembers who are cooperative and thoughtful, creative and dedicated, and willing to find common sense solutions to tough problems. Those are qualities that I will bring to the council.

I believe the city council should be a reflection of the city's character. Riverside needs a city council with intelligence, enthusiasm and commitment that will lead by example. I can bring these qualities to the Riverside City Council. However, it is not enough to be honest and hardworking. I need your help and support. As the election approaches, I will be walking the Ward 4 neighborhoods asking for your support. I look forward to meeting you!

Thank you!

Corinne
