Re-election Campain 2005

By Daniel B. "Dan" Archuleta

Candidate for Director; Home Gardens Sanitary District

This information is provided by the candidate
As a Director of the Home Gardens Sanitary District I have been a good steward of our community's resources. I wish to continue my work, and provide us all with a safe, efficient sanitary system.
Originally born in Wyoming, Daniel Archuleta moved to Home Gardens in 1968. Along with his wife of 42 years, Diane, he raised five children in our community. During the late 70's and into the 80's Daniel was active in the community as a Soccer coach and referee for AYSO (The American Youth Soccer Organization Region 37). Currently, he aids his two sons, Christopher and Daniel as an assistant coach for their teams.

Daniel brings with him a wealth valuable of experience to the Home Gardens Sanitary District. In his lifetime Daniel has held a number of positions for various companies. He has been a senior mechanic and safety coordinator for Acousticraft, a sub-contractor for general construction, the Vice President of a successful lighting supply company, and a Partner in a successful light fixture manufacturing company.

In a desire to give back to his community Daniel Archuleta entered public service 10 years ago as an elected official of the Home Gardens Sanitary District. Together with other board members, he has worked hard for the citizens of Home Gardens. Since 1995 Daniel Archuleta, along with his fellow board members, has successfully maintained the control and integrity of the Home Gardens Sanitary District. The Board has fended off a lawsuit brought by the City of Corona that would have wrenched control of the Home Gardens Sanitary District from the community of Home Gardens, with the potential to significantly increase costs to the Home Gardens Sanitary District customers. The present board, has modernized and updated the District's infrastructure to a completely digital system, which has enabled the district to better monitor the system and emphasize lower cost preventive maintenance over more costly emergency repairs. This has provided a reliable system without significant disruption and with a manageable secure cash flow. Currently, the system is in excellent repair, and functioning as designed and well within budget. Most importantly, they have succeeded in this without a single rate increase since 1995, and through prudent financial management, they have established a reserve sufficient to handle most unforeseen emergencies.

From the outset, Daniel Archuleta has had a number of goals for the Home Gardens Sanitary District. To date, he and his fellow board members have been successful in obtaining these goals. These are: Maintaining local control of the system, maintaining current rates, responsible prudent handling of revenues, and most importantly providing a safe, efficient, and properly functioning system.

This is his platform. It's simple, it's effective, and it saves us money. Please vote for responsible government, re-elect Daniel Archuleta, to the Home Gardens Sanitary District so that he may continue to serve our mutual interests as he has done for the past 10 years.

Thank you,
