I am very interested in helping to insure a quality education for all students in the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District. We are a very diverse district. Each student brings his or her own unique strengths and weaknesses and all must be dealt with to the best of our collective abilities.

We are in a very dangerous period where education is concerned. Education is very undervalued and under funded. This is true not only in our district, but throughout the state and nation. Funds are insufficient to pay teachers and other district personnel what they deserve. We place our most precious possession, our children, in their hands every day. However, we do not give them the tools they need to mold our future leaders so they can insure a safe and secure democracy for all of us.

On the local level, I pledge to work with my fellow board members, the Administration, school district personnel and parent groups to bring unity back to our district. I want to see us put the children first. We must work together to balance the budget and put what money we have to good use.

I also pledge to make myself accessible to parents, teachers, administrators, and all concerned with education. I have the time and the energy to attend all trainings and board meetings in the local, regional, state, and national levels.. I will communicate with my constituents on an ongoing basis, alerting parents and community members well in advance of any decisions affecting the welfare of the children in Trustee Area 2.

Please vote on November 8th, and encourage your neighbors and friends to vote also.
