Councilman Nick Pacheco's leadership ability and visionary solutions come from being the product of a loving immigrant family. Nick was born and raised in the City of Los Angeles, specifically the community of Boyle Heights. Nick's parents are both immigrants from Mexico. He was raised in a household where his father worked as a steelworker and his mother was a homemaker.

Nick has four siblings + 2 brothers (Armando & Henry) and 2 sisters (Lillian & Sonia). Nick's older sister, Lillian, works for Bon Appetit pastries, his older brother, Armando, is a doctor practicing with Family Care Specialist out of Highland Park and Boyle Heights, his younger brother, Henry, works for a waste management firm, and his younger sister, Sonia, is pursuing her Masters degree in geology.

After graduating from Loyola High School in 1982, Nick went to the Bay Area to attend the University of California at Berkeley and graduated in 1988. It was there that he first discovered his desire to practice law. Nick returned home to attend Loyola Law School, and in 1994, Nick received his law degree. More than anything Nick realized that his law degree was the perfect tool to help accomplish his real end goal -- improve his community and the lives of the people who live within it.

Nick Pacheco marched ahead with his goal of serving the public in his years as Deputy District Attorney (1995-1999). The lessons he learned at the street level, directly interacting with victims of crime and prosecuting criminals, only strengthened his resolve to work harder to help lift the City of Los Angeles.

After helping make the city safer as a Deputy District Attorney, Nick was honored to serve in another way, when he was elected as City Councilmember for District 14. At City Hall, Nick distinguished himself as a fighter against crimes that plague working class communities by working with City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo to push through the Neighborhood Prosecutor Program. This program puts a Deputy City Attorney in each police station to combat the crimes that reduce our quality of life, such as, nuisance properties, prostitution and graffiti. The combined experience as both a Deputy District Attorney and Councilmember, have provided Nick with the experience and maturity to lead Council District 14 during these challenging times.

Nick and his wife, Marisela, live in the community of Eagle Rock.
