Ballot Statement

By Ray V. Ondrejech

Candidate for Governing Board Member; El Camino Community College District; Trustee Area 4

This information is provided by the candidate
South Bay taxpayers deserve effective and efficient management of their investment in higher education. We need the best educational opportunities available for our families. My 23 years in the United States Air Force, the last 10 as an intelligence officer, have given me the leadership skills to develop and successfully carry out organizational plans, policies and budgets.

As a community college graduate with children currently in, and about to enter a community college, I know first-hand the critical role El Camino College plays in South Bay communities. As a Board Member of the El Camino Community College District, I will be accessible and accountable to the public. I will represent the best interests of current and future students of El Camino Community College.

My goals include:

- Maintain a balanced budget without increasing taxes.
- Offer classes students need to be successful in the jobs of the future.
- Sustain excellence in teaching, while ensuring students have the skills to transfer to four-year universities.
- Provide state-of-the-art training to teach technical skills and prepare our police, fire and homeland security personnel.

I respectfully ask for your vote on November 8.
