Will CD 14 TURN AWAY FROM THE HOMELESS ?

NO ! WE TURN TOWARD SOLUTIONS TO SOLVE HOMELESSNESS ! ESPECIALLY FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES !

The most important responsibility that the City Of Los Angeles has is to make sure even to the point of redundancy that no child is within our borders that is living with hunger, a lack of education, recreation, and a safe place to sleep. We need to have shelters for homeless families and individuals that are outreach centers. Centers that allow them to live with dignity and respect until they can resolve those issues which have caused them to be homeless. Job training, health care, and education are just a few of the services that we can provide in partnership with other social service agencies. We can move our most needy citizens off of the rough, cold, sidewalks of our streets and into the warm embrace of mainstream society as productive citizens.

MUNICIPALITIES ARE DUMPING THEIR HOMELESS CITIZENS ONTO OUR STREETS. WE WILL NOT CONDONE THIS. BUT WE SHOULD ALSO SET AN EXAMPLE THAT WE WILL NOT SHY AWAY FROM BEING A MODEL OF COMPASSION FOR OUR OWN CITIZENS.
