My campaign platform is the belief that we need to maintain and enhance quality education by forming strong partnerships based on trust and the free flow of information between school personnel, parents, and students. I share the view that the current Board has not been a model of collaboration between parents, students, and teachers, and the best interests of our students have not been met. Within this framework of strong relationships, I believe there are four issues that must be addressed. They include: Creating a strategic plan to cope with the effects of a predicted declining enrollment Ensuring careful use of state and local resources Preparing students for a rapidly changing world by linking the development of critical thinking, personal ethics, and civic responsibility Maximizing transparency, trust, dialogue, and collaboration between Board, teachers, parents, and students |
