Greg Hill: Successful Businessman & Mayor

Hard work and determination define Greg Hill's life. Born in Pasadena in 1958, Hill lost his father at a young age and had to work for everything he had.

Greg worked his way through high school and college, while also pursuing his passion for playing baseball. Greg even attended a professional tryout for the San Francisco Giants during his college years.

He went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from the University of California, Irvine, and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California. While at USC, Greg also received the award for Entrepreneur of the Year, for a business he and a fellow college student had begun.

ENGINEER AND BUSINESSMAN After college, Greg went to work for the Southern California Gas Company, and over the next 13 years, he held positions such as Energy Systems Engineer, Environmental Affairs Manager, District Manager, and Economic Development Manager.

In 1994, Hill left the company and founded Hill & Associates, a trade brokerage company. The company worked in the developing economies of third world countries and was involved in infrastructure development projects in Asia and South America.

Greg Hill currently owns an insurance and financial planning business in Torrance.

REDONDO BEACH MAYOR In 1993, Greg Hill was elected to the Redondo Beach City Council, and in 1997, he was elected that city's Mayor, where in 2001, he was unopposed for his re-election.
