I am committed to public education, proffering and championing issues important to our district and making informed decisions favoring our students and those who serve them.

MY GOALS:

FISCAL INTEGRITY OF THE DISTRICT
The challenges of finance, as evidenced by decisions made on the state level, will require many hard choices.

I, ALICE GRIGSBY, am committed to work to keep fiscal cuts away from the classroom.

KEEP THE SPOTLIGHT ON CHILDREN

The budget and personnel priorities must be based on what is best for our students. We must demand appropriate financial and accounting practices and procedures.

I, ALICE GRIGSBY, will support full implementation of the current goals and academic enhancement programs to maximize the performance of our students in meeting state and federal standards.

I, ALICE GRIGSBY, will work for increased funding of our school libraries.

I, ALICE GRIGSBY, champion the reviving of the emphasis on the total child by addressing the mounting health and physical education needs at all grade levels.

MEET THE NEEDS OF IUSD'S STUDENTS THROUGH
PROGRAMS/CURRICULUM

I, ALICE GRIGSBY, favor the introduction of more educational options for the district's students.

I, ALICE GRIGSBY, fully support providing qualified personnel to the district at the market competitive salary range for work performed.

ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE ACTIVITIES OF THE DISTRICT The community needs affirmation of the successes of the district.

I, ALICE GRIGSBY, support regular publications highlighting positive school activities that would be made available to the entire community.

I, ALICE GRIGSBY, support regular community forums on the state of the schools.

EXPAND THE INVOLVEMENT OF ALL STAKEHOLDERS

I, ALICE GRIGSBY, will support the development of policies that encourage public access. I support the development of procedures that include an action process for disseminating information on issues of community concern.

I, ALICE GRIGSBY, will support the full development of parent councils and the utilization of contracts designed to increase parental involvement in the learning environment and promote teacher-parent-district partnerships.

MAXIMIZE MEASURE K BOND FUNDS

I, ALICE GRIGSBY, believe that appropriate decisions have been made to keep the program on track and that the community will be well served by the products of these funds.

I, ALICE GRIGSBY, will support matching Measure K bond dollars whenever possible with State Bond dollars.

MY MAXIM:

We must have zero tolerance for the misuse of funds/resources and initiate legal actions whenever & wherever appropriate.

To always work "for the good of the child" in policy making.

To be a progressive, productive, persistent, positive and prepared board members.

To work collaboratively with ALL Board Members.
