Shall Article XXIV, Section 8 of the Charter of the City of Glendale be amended to remove obsolete language regarding officers and employees employed as of January 1, 1937?

The current Charter provides a section for the tenure of officers and employees in present employment, who were employed since January 1, 1937.

The amendment proposes to eliminate that section as there are no longer employees currently employed by the city who were employed in 1937.

Arguments For Measure CharterAmendment-19
The amendment proposes to modernize the Charter by removing obsolete language regarding the tenure of officers and employees in present employment since January 1, 1937. There are no officers or employees presently employed who have been employed since 1937.
