Here's why I am running. I love Manhattan Beach. This is where we chose to raise our kids, Ben & Katie. My husband, Dave and I feel proud to say we live in Manhattan Beach. A lot of people work very hard to make this town a great place to live. Being on City Council is one way I can help. I will bring a common sense approach to the governance of Manhattan Beach. I want to encourage remodels instead of tear-downs. I want to upgrade the library facilties and expand the hours while remaining in the County system. I want dog owners to be able to walk their dogs on-leash in public parks. It is imperative to maintain public safety by working closely with the Police and Fire departments. By working with existing organizations we can keep our beaches clean and protect our coastline. We need to establish ordinances that will protect our historic buildings and homes. Communication for community input is key. I will establish weekly times to informally meet with residents. I respect the traditions of the past and want to preserve our sense of community here in Manhattan Beach.
