Candidates Statement

By Ray Fernandez

Candidate for Council Member; City of La Habra Heights

This information is provided by the candidate
I have been a resident of La Habra and La Habra Heights for over 19 years. I believe we should have a City Council that works as a team to preserve our rural lifestyle and natural open spaces. I also believe that the city should do more to involve residents in the decisions about our town's future.

Public safety is my top priority. We need to professionalize our paramedics and better protect our fire prone hillsides. Reducing the width of Hacienda Road poses a danger to residents and visitors alike.

Our community's greatest asset is its homeowners. We need a community plan strategy that encourages home improvement, respects our rolling hills and scenic vistas, reflects diversity in architecture and removes the bureaucratic obstacles and expense for those who improve their property. Greater restrictions on our homeowners is not the answer.

I would like the opportunity to demonstrate my leadership skills for the betterment of our community. I believe I can bring focus, discipline and a proper set of community goals and priorities to the City Council.

We can keep La Habra Heights as everyone's first choice to live and raise a family. I'd be honored to have your vote.
