Jesse L. Byers was born in Norfolk, Virginia and moved to Burbank over ten years ago.

He grew up living in low-cost housing and neighborhoods among hard-working people who struggled to make ends meet. He attended underfunded schools wracked by violence and crime.

After moving to California he worked for several retailers in Burbank before publishing his first novel in late 2003, a sequel for which is due out in early 2005.

Though he is financially stable today, Jesse has never forgotten the daily struggles, the hardships everyday people face. From his mother and friends and family, to the people he worked with in the underappreciated retail grind to the people he meets on the street in an average day, Jesse has not and will never undervalue the ordinary hero. The person who works day in and day out to support their family and make ends meet. It is those people that deserve to have a voice. It is those people Jesse knows and those people his values come from.
