1. What are your qualifications for office?

Answer from Jeannette Harrison:

My qualification is my ability to work with people.

Answer from Patrica M. Clancy:

As an elected official, I have concentrated on problem solving and setting sound fiscal policy. I have strived to ensure that Ohio remains an excellent state for people to live, work, and raise their families. In this Ohio Senate, I will focus on job growth and economic development.

2. How would you implement your top priority?

Answer from Jeannette Harrison:

I will work across party lines to build coalitions to affect change.

3. What do you see as the two most pressing issues you would address if elected? What plans do you have relative to those issues?

Answer from Patrica M. Clancy:

If the voters give me the privilege of serving them in the eighth senate district, my focus will be on job growth and economic development. Two major legislative initiatives are key: the Third-Frontier Project to expand Ohio's high-tech research capabilities and promote innovation and company formation; and tax reform. Specifically, the corporate franchise tax needs to be adjusted. It is now largely inefficient + providing a high rate of taxation along with low returns.

Answer from Jeannette Harrison:

1.Healthcare:I will work for every man, woman, and child to be covered. For those who are covered I will seek to reduce their healthcare premiums. I will seek to reduce prescription costs for the elderly and champion stem cell research.
2.Education: I will work to up grade school facilities, increase teacher pay, find creative ways to keep children in school so as to not leave anyone behind

4. Would you change Ohio's business tax structure, and if so, how and why?

Answer from Jeannette Harrison:

I would change the tax structure that rewards business for closing plants and moving jobs out of the state and the country.

5. What should be the state's role in encouraging local governments to work together?

6. What plans do you have to promote a more balanced transportation system in Ohio?
