Smart Growth and Open Space Advocate
Living in Thousand Oaks for more than half of my life, I have seen this city grow from the inside out. Lately I have noticed changes that not only make me uneasy about the future of this great city, but changes that are superfluous to the development and direction of the city. We need to conserve our open space and stop creating useless shopping centers that congest our streets and highways. The pride and joy of Thousand Oaks is how we can maintain such a high standard of living without having to resort to excessive growth and futile development. I will make sure that the residents of this city maintain the respect and dignity that they have fought so long for by keeping our open space intact and maintaining the level of growth that has made us so respected throughout the Nation.

Public Safety
Given the recent events of terrorism around the world, I feel that Public Safety is a very important issue, not only nationally, but locally as well. A strong local awareness will help our national terrorist deterrence efforts a great deal. We must be well prepared for any issue affecting our security and safety at all times, including but not limited to terrorist activity. Instead of appointing more officers, a task that will surely put question into our already nationally recognized level of Public Safety, I will better utilize the tax dollar by providing the public with extra information on security and safety issues and concerns. This will be used as additional aid for public awareness, and will be made available without completely restructuring our current safety guidelines.

Fiscal Dependability
You should be responsible for your money. We all work hard to pay our share of taxes to ensure our community will be the best it can be. We depend on our elected and appointed officials to utilize our tax money in a way that will benefit our community. Unfortunately, plenty of this tax money is spent carelessly. This is why there must instantly be a city-wide audit that will help us better understand and cut the useless government spending.
