The State of Our City

By Don Waunch

Candidate for Member of the City Council; City of Camarillo

This information is provided by the candidate
Where we are, where we're going and where I fit in the plan.
Since 1964, Camarillo has become a highly desirable and sought-after community in which to live and work. Proudly, I am part of a dynamic, forward-looking City Council and staff whose teamwork is responsible for creating and shepherding important initiatives directed toward maintaining our quality of life and shared sense of security.

As your Mayor, my highest priority goal has been to ensure that our disaster response system is functioning efficiently. We made great strides in realistically testing, studying and updating all levels of our disaster plan in all disciplines. We successfully maintained economic growth while still providing a requisite safety net.

California is not out of the budgetary woods. City governments have pledged to give the State money. Therefore, this Council still must be vigilant and tough in guarding your tax dollars and spending them wisely to fund needed City projects that you want and that you expect; a new library; safer streets; better transportation; a pleasing environment; affordable homes for all workers.

I serve the City and County on numerous Committees, Boards and Commissions, and I bring invaluable experience to bear on these issues. My commitment to serve you is resolute.

This is a great City and with everyone's support and involvement it will continue to be so.
