Dianne Badoud McKay for CVUSD School Board Experience and Knowledge in a Longtime Resident

After many years of working as a parent volunteer on committees and in parent groups, while successfully owning and operating an international television telecommunications company, this product of our local schools wants to bring new leadership to the Conejo. With her knowledge of the school system and successful business background, she hopes to help enhance the already good education our schools have to offer.

Dianne has been serving in various capacities around the school district for many years, both at the school and district level. She is currently District Advisory Council Chairperson, a founding board member of the Conejo Schools Foundation, on the Facilities Strategic Goals Committee and has been a member of the Bond District Advisory Committee since its inception. She also worked on the Homework Committee that updated the homework policy of our district and is still currently on the Stadium Task Force after successfully helping to secure city funding for the three high school stadiums. At school sites she has been site council chairperson at Redwood Middle School and Thousand Oaks High School and has held various PTA board positions including the executive board of the Conejo Council PTA. She has also served in leadership positions in parent booster organizations (founding 2 of them + the Madrona Elementary Technology Booster Club and the Thousand Oaks High School Journalism Booster Club). Dianne is also beginning her second term on the College of Business Advisory Board at California State University, Chico and participates regularly in their executive lecture series. As a great supporter of the CVUSD school-to-career program, her company has provided many job shadow experiences for our local high school students and a few full internship opportunities.

An alumnus of Redwood Middle School and Thousand Oaks High School, Dianne has the unique perspective of time and how our school system has changed and grown - and needs to continue to change and grow + to meet the needs of a community with high expectations of its schools. Her business knowledge, as well as her wealth of experience within the school district, will allow her to hit the ground running to deal with some of the current issues and look toward policies that will best serve our students well into the future.

Dianne moved to Thousand Oaks with her family in 1972 and after a brief experience with city life after college graduation, returned again in to raise her own children here. She is married to Duncan McKay, a satellite engineer and building inspector, has one son headed to UC Davis in the fall and three other children still in school here in the Conejo.

Running for the 2-year, Short Term Vacancy on Conejo Valley Unified School District Governing Board Committee to Elect Dianne McKay - 1534 N. Moorpark Rd., Box 135, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360
