Peace is the only security. A serious policy of working for more justice in the world, and striving for friendly relations with all nations, not international aggression, is the key to security.

War

  • US military out of Iraq and Afghanistan now. Bring the troops home.
  • No war or occupation of other countries. End U.S. imperialism - no more foreign wars for oil or corporate profits, and no interference in other countries' affairs.
  • Renounce U.S. first strike option. We should never start a war!
  • Renounce the use of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons, and begin dismantling our stockpiles under United Nations supervision.
  • Stop all U.S. arms exports and arms trade.
  • No military draft - abolish the Selective Service.
  • Drastically downsize the military. Retrain military personnel.

Peace

  • Create a Department of Peace.
  • End war profiteering.
  • Convert from military to peaceful production. Convert to an economy that will benefit society and distribute the wealth. Use the "peace dividend" to provide education, healthcare, housing, and to alleviate poverty in the US and the rest of the world.
  • Work toward global disarmament. Lead by example by dismantling all US nuclear, biological and chemical weapons, and calling for a global disarmament conference.
  • Ratify the landmine ban treaty, antiballistic missile treaty, biological and chemical weapons conventions, comprehensive test ban treaty, and nuclear non-proliferation treaty.
  • No weapons in space.
  • Abolish all government agencies working against foreign governments.
  • Strengthen a truly independent United Nations. Pay our fair U.N. dues promptly.

International Justice

  • End all support for repressive and non-democratic regimes.
  • The US must become a partner in the world community.
  • Join and support the World Court.
  • Self-determination for all peoples of the world; stop US intervention in other countries' affairs.
  • Support international labor unions, and environmental efforts.
  • End the blockade of Cuba and the travel ban; normalize relationships.

Domestic

  • Repeal the Patriot Act.
  • Promote domestic security by ensuring adequate jobs with a living wage, free, high quality healthcare and education for all, and eliminating poverty and inequality.
