Barbara McIver is a California native who has lived in the district since 1978. She was elected to the Board of Supervisors in Tehama County in 1992, and will complete her third successful term in 2004. Previously she served on the Red Bluff Elementary School Board for 6 years. Barbara has managed to maintain a moderate and fiscally conservative policy agenda and action record which have been consistently endorsed by voters in the north state.

Barbara has been married to Ronald McIver, a Red Bluff attorney, for 28 years. They are parents to four adult daughters, Mia, Robin, Lila and Betsy. Barbara chose to spend her children's formative years at home with them while pursuing volunteer community activities.
