I grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, a diverse suburb of Washington, D.C. I received my B.A., Journalism (News Editorial/Magazine) from University of Maryland at College Park.

I moved to Auburn in April 2000. I am married and have three adult stepchildren.

Until Sept. 30, I worked as an Analyst in the Planning and Business Services group of Gannett Co., Inc.'s, Information Technology department. I telecommuted from my home via computer and telephone.

As soon as I was able to get involved in the community, I did. First, I joined the Friends of Auburn Library, then the local Democratic organizations.

I have always had a passion for politics and history. I believe that we must learn from political decisions of the past, engage the public in an open exchange of ideas, and demand that our leadership passionately advocates our needs for the future.

My campaign for state senate is an opportunity for me to increase the value of public service through dialogue with the people of the district.
