Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Tom Condit

Candidate for
State Senator; District 9

This information is provided by the candidate

I believe that the basic problems confronting humanity and the earth can only be solved by abolishing our present social system (which is based on greed and selfishness)and moving to a socialist system based upon cooperation and democracy.

That change can only come about when all working-class people unite across race, gender, occupational and national lines to create such a new society. There can't be a perfect "plan" for such a transition, because it will depend on the needs, hopes and activities of millions of people. We can, however, look to examples from the past like the Paris Commune, the soviets during the Russian revolution of 1917, and the workers' councils of the Spanish revolution to see inspirational models of what working people can achieve when they put their hands and minds to it.

Please see the Peace and Freedom Party platform at the Peace and Freedom Party web page for additional information on my positions.
