By Tim Smith

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Rohnert Park

This information is provided by the candidate
Tim Smith - Statement of Qualifications
I've lived in Rohnert Park since 1986 and have been involved in our community throughout that time, including:

City of Rohnert Park - Planning Commissioner; Rohnert Park-Cotati Library Advisory Board - Chairman; Rohnert Park-Cotati Library Foundation - Boardmember; Cotati-Rohnert Park Education Foundation - Advisory Boardmember; and Rohnert Park Chamber of Commerce - Former Boardmember.

The financial future of our City is threatened because the Council majority is committed to spending more than it receives, gambling on future funding sources. The City is also engaging in practices that create animosity and ill will, leading all too often to expensive lawsuits. I'm running for City Council to change the direction of Council leadership.

My independent campaign will have a spending limit of $5,000 - enough to reach those of you seeking change, but avoiding an overload of slick brochures. It's time to elect truly independent councilmembers, citizens not indebted to big-money contributors. I urge other candidates to adopt this spending limit.

I would appreciate your support. Please use tsmithlaw@peoplepc.com to contact me; I'll listen.

My community involvement has given me a solid understanding of our City and its residents. My professional training has taught me to analyze issues independently. With your help, I will bring positive change to the City of Rohnert Park.
