With my extensive experience in both education and government, I will provide honest and dependable leadership. My time on the Santa Rosa City Council, 20 years as a school counselor, and a variety of leadership positions in our community have prepared me for this position.

My key priorities if elected will be:

  • Community Involvement

The Board of Trustees acts as a bridge between the community and the College. I will help to build and strengthen this bridge to carry on Santa Rosa Junior College's tradition of excellence in a non-partisan manner.

  • A Balanced Approach to Transportation and Parking

We need to incorporate all reasonable means of alternative transportation into future improvements of the College. In addition, I believe that it is imperative that the SRJC Board of Trustees cooperate with the City of Santa Rosa and the County, as well as the neighbors, to deal with transportation, parking and traffic issues.

  • Sustainable Construction Using Local Labor

The SRJC Board should ensure sustainable environmental practices. Construction projects should be built in a "green" and sustainable manner. This includes permeable pedestrian and cycle pathways; solar panels for heating, cooling and energy efficiency; and utilizing the skilled labor force who live in Sonoma County to lessen commute impacts.
