Caroline's political philosophy is composed of two key elements: inclusion and solutions. The themes in her campaign, district elections, open and accessible government, affordable housing and environmental justice revolve around the concept of inclusion. Many citizens today feel disenfranchised and left out of the decision making process. Caroline hopes to change this. She wants citizens to be involved and appreciated for their concerns and ideas. Caroline also wants Santa Rosa to be a City where everyone has a place to live, work and feel like a part of the community at large.

Growing up in Southern California and being of Mexican-American descent, Caroline knows first hand the tragedy of gang violence. Thus, she would like to see gang prevention addressed in a pro-active manner but without robbing our youth of their rights or dignity. She will work to educate the public on how issues affect Latinos and other communities of color. Caroline also has a great interest in mental health and homelessness. She would like to see long term solutions to homelessness that involve transitional housing and residential programs that will assist consumers into becoming productive members of society.

Santa Rosa has become a diverse and vibrant City that demands innovative solutions to complex problems. Caroline will work to make sure more voices are heard and greater care is given to these decisions that impact your lives. She will also work to find ways to bring citizens into the process so that they are a part of the solution.
