The children of East Palo Alto should have the same educational opportunities that children of neighboring communities have. All children deserve to have high caliber instruction in math, literacy, science, technology and the arts.

Our children need our help to prepare for tomorrow. They are the leaders of the future. In order for the community to benefit, our youth needs to benefit first with the best education possible. More children need to be motivated to continue their career paths at a college level.

We need to provide the tools needed for our youth to want to go to school, to want to learn, and to want to excel for their own future benefit.

We must put art back in the school curriculum for all children. It has been proven that children with art in their lives are more sensitive and considerate about the diverse communities around them and man kind in general.

Art helps develop creativity, sensibility, appreciation, which in turn adds to a better way of life. Art also helps one to think beyond what is there.

My goal is to work toward improving the present educational system so that all East Palo Alto youth are provided with the same educational opportunities that students in neighboring communities receive.
